Climate In Nepal

The territory of Nepal is different from places to places which differ the climate in Nepal. Southern part of Nepal is known as Terai which is plain lands where summers are tropical and winters are mild. Similarly Northern parts of Nepal are mostly mountains which is cold in summer and winter is severe. Between Himalayas and Terai lands there is hilly region in between where summer and winter is not so bad. In general, Nepal has five seasons: spring, summer, monsoon, autumn and winter.

Teria lands have border with India and summer temperature exceed 37°C + and winter season temperature range from 7°C to 23°C. Mountain region with is in north parts of Nepal has border with Tibet (China), winter temperature go beyond zero and summer is also cold. Hilly region remains sustainable in winter and summer season.

The Kathmandu Valley has a pleasant climate with average summer and winter temperatures of 19°C – 35°C and 2°C – 12°C respectively.

Monsoon falls in June to September and eight percent of all the shower (rain) in Nepal is received during that period. Normally 3,345 mm rain fall in Pokhara and below 300 mm in Mustang and overall annual rainfall is 1,600 mm. Eco-logical variations differ the monsoon fall in different parts of Nepal.

Normally, Spring and Autumn are the best time to visit in Nepal but the people can come anytime to explore around this Himalayan kingdom. Winter time (December and January) even welcomes you with its panoramic mountain views with the sunny day. Some trekking areas e.g. Upper Mustang is recommended trekking in monsoon season.
